SWOT ANALYSIS

 

Strengths

 

  • Having a young, dynamic academic staff who can manage the qualified data analysis and evaluation process needed for academic studies in all units of our university, who can produce projects, who can produce national/international articles, who have high experience in programming languages, who are experts in their fields, who are open to development.
     
  • Having an academic staff with a strong academic background from which support can be obtained.
     
  • Having an academically quality-oriented approach that pays attention to academic merit-ethical values.
     
  • Innovative and foresighted approach to data analysis.
     
  • Having a multidisciplinary working principle with other centres and units and having the ability to adapt.
     
  • Implementation of participatory management approach in academic and administrative structuring.
     

Weaknesses

 

  • Low number of trained and effective personnel for the execution of the activities of the Centre.
     
  • The units of our university are not sufficiently informed about the activities and potential of our centre
     
  • Lack of coordination and cooperation between the Centre and the units of our university.
     
  • Lack of recognition and communication of the Centre.
     
  • Inadequate activities of the Centre.
     
  • Lack and insufficiency of relations with external stakeholders.
     
  • Lack of an office with technical equipment to carry out the activities of the Centre

Opportunities

  • Our centre is seen to have a triggering role for new research projects
     
  • The increase in the number of projects produced by the academic staff in the units of our university in a year and the need to report the outputs with qualified results.
  • The fact that our centre has the opportunity to cooperate with external stakeholders both because it has private sectors with a high level of development in its region and because it is relatively close to big cities.
     
  • Increasing importance is given to distance education.
     
  • Within the scope of lifelong learning, individuals prefer distance education methods in their education and training activities.
     
  • Stakeholders using internet-based access a lot due to the decrease in physical activities due to extraordinary situations such as the Covid epidemic and earthquakes
     

Threats

 

  • High reluctance of researchers, academic staff and students to participate in the activities and training organised.
     
  • The academic staff is not open enough to cooperate with the centre.
     
  • During the organisation of the planned activities, the target audience does not show enough interest in the activities and events
     
  • Various deficiencies related to physical infrastructure.

 

Suggestions and Measures

 

  • Organising coordination and meetings with internal and external stakeholders and announcing the activities and potential of the Centre to internal and external stakeholders,
     
  • Strengthening relations with public institutions and organisations and the private sector,
     
  • Organising seminars and training with the support of our academicians both in our Centre and in different units outside the Centre
     
  • Opening and active use of social media accounts,
     
  • Increasing efforts to strengthen communication with academics, researchers and students via e-mail and social media,
     
  • Co-operation meetings with the units,
     
  • Preparation of the suggestion evaluation measurement questionnaire,
     
  • To increase the number and diversity of activities.
